About this project
In collaboration with the Belgian-Congolese NGO NTBS, YouBridge
will fund the installation of a large computer center in Kisangani.
As the university and college student at the moment have very
limited access to computers, they are forced to pay for internet
cafés or other people typing their master thesis. Some students
will then graduate from university without ever having used a
computer.
This project offers them the opportunity to have unlimited
access to the new YouBridge laptops in a controlled and supervised
environment. They will be educated in basic computer skills and be
able to do research for their studies.
As they are very keen to come in contact with people from all
over the world, the YouBridge platform will play an important role
in this communication.
The ultimate project goals is to provide the 10.000 students in
Kisangani with access to computers for their research and writing
of thesis and other reports. Via the NTBS-YouBridge computer room
they will also be taught how to use the computers and internet and
actively participate on the online YouBridge network.
